COOKE COUNTY, Texas — Officials say the shooting death of a bison in Cooke County last week has led to the offer of a reward for information that could help identify the person responsible.
According to the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office, the animal was shot and killed sometime between Nov. 23 and Nov. 26 on a property near County Road 301 and FM 3108, south of Lindsay.
Deputies reported that the bison’s head had been removed and the rest of the carcass was left at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and is asking anyone with tips to call 940-665-3471.
